Portfolio of Resonance Paintings

These paintings began in 2018 and continued through 2020 during lockdown, until I began the Facets series.

These paintings explored organic shapes and movement through the use of dramatic color. As I explored and expanded the medium’s possibilities, I honored the history of American abstraction by seizing opportunities to break with tradition at every turn. I used painterly, gesture abstraction as both a formal language and a poetic, highly personal mode of engagement with the world outside the studio.

Painted using professional-grade materials on archival support, all of this work is built for longevity. The surface includes layered detail that becomes more apparent in person, rewarding close inspection over time.
