The View is Obscured from Here

$3,200.00

"The View Is Obscured from Here" (30 x 30") acknowledges a truth we often resist: sometimes we simply cannot see clearly. Whether by circumstance, emotion, or the limitations of our position, clarity eludes us—and perhaps that's okay.

Working with oil on canvas, I built up dense layers of greens, blues, and earth tones that overlap and obscure one another. Dark forms block sight lines through the composition, creating a sense of looking into forest depth or through atmospheric haze where definition dissolves. You sense there's something beyond, something you might see if only you could shift perspective, but from here—from this exact position—the view remains obscured.

The painting speaks to epistemic humility, to accepting the limits of what we can know or see from where we stand. Not everything reveals itself on demand. Some views require patience, different angles, or acceptance that certain things remain perpetually out of focus.

This isn't about frustration but about honest recognition of our situated perspective.

Professional-grade oil on canvas. Edges painted, ready to hang. Signed on back. Certificate included.
