End of Summer

$6,050.00

"End of Summer" (48 x 60") oil layered on acrylic subpainting, completed 8/2025, captures that bittersweet moment when the season shifts—when vibrant orange blooms begin to fade into cool blues, when warmth gives way to the approaching whisper of autumn. This large horizontal painting holds the memory of summer's heat while acknowledging change on the horizon.

Working with oil layered over acrylic underpainting, I built up fluid passages that suggest water, sky, and the liminal spaces between seasons. The orange and coral bursts in the upper portion evoke the last brilliant flowers of late summer, while deep teals and navy blues flow through the composition like ocean water. Green botanical elements persist, neither fully summer nor quite autumn, caught in transition.

I'm drawn to these threshold moments—when one thing is becoming another, when we can hold both what was and what's emerging. The horizontal format emphasizes the passage of time, the sweep from warmth to cool, the journey from one state to another.

Viewers will recognize their own experiences of transition and find beauty in the in-between.

Professional-grade oil on gallery-wrapped canvas. Edges painted, ready to hang and signed on back. Certificate included.
