Acrylic and Oil On Canvas

30 x 30 x 1.5 in

76.2 x 76.2 x 3.81 cm)

"Carrying Unfinished Stories" (20 x 20") explores what we hold within us—those incomplete narratives, partial memories, and unresolved experiences that layer up over time, creating the complex texture of who we are.

Working with oil glazed over acrylic underpainting, I built up a palimpsest of color and mark-making where each layer partially obscures what came before. Cool blues and teals suggest distance or time passing, while touches of magenta and golden ochre emerge like fragments of vivid memory. A vertical form bisects the composition—perhaps a figure, perhaps simply a presence—carrying these accumulated stories.

The white central area reads like an open page or a space where stories might be written, if we could find the words. But some narratives resist completion. They remain fragments, glimpses, half-told tales that we carry forward anyway, letting them shape us even in their incompleteness.

This painting honors those unfinished stories as valid and valuable—not failures but simply part of the ongoing narrative we're still writing.

Professional-grade oil on canvas. Edges painted, ready to hang. Signed on back. Certificate included.
